Acupressure
What is Acupressure?
Acupressure/ Chinese Medical Massage (Tui Na)
Acupressure originated in ancient China. Like many other treatments used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the goal of acupressure is to support movement of Qi (life energy) through the 14 meridians inside the body. If Qi is blocked at any point on a meridian, the body can no longer maintain the balance that is needed to maintain high energy and deal with health issues.
Acupressure is similar to acupuncture, but it works by manual stimulation along the meridians and acupuncture points on the body without a needle, to help with energy flow to achieve relaxation and enhance the medicinal effect. The points chosen from a practitioner are depends on your symptoms. Acupressure is milder than acupuncture and can be done as part of acupuncture treatment or massage treatment, or as a stand-alone practice.
