Cupping is one of the key methods in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM). This popular treatment is primarily used for ease pain, tension, and can help with many other conditions. The old TCM philosophy holds that pain results from blockage of Qi, blood, or energy. Cupping, therefore, a method of clearing this blockage to restore the body’s natural flow of energy and thus reducing the pain.

The Fire Cupping Therapy involves heating up special shaped glass cups with a flame before placing them over specific points on the body to draw out toxins. It promotes the free flow of vital energy and blood circulation, relieve pain, promote mobility. The duration of each session is usually 10 -15mins. It is suggested that you perform this 1-2 times a month.
Depending on how dark the marks are, I will advise whether further treatments are required.

The cupping marks are discoloration of the skin due to broken blood vessels just beneath the skin. This indicates the level of blood and Qi stagnation, toxin accumulation, or dampness accumulation in your body. the color and pattern of the marks reflect the level of stagnation in that area. The darker the color, the more stagnation present.

It may cause temporary bruising (known as ecchymosis), it is part of the process. Normally, they will disappear within a week. Please inform me ahead of time if you do not want markings in particular regions. i.e. parties. Most of the time cupping is safe , and does not cause side effects. However, in some rare cases, one may feel dizzy, or develop small blisters.

  • Inflamed, irritated, edema or sensitive skin

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Pregnant (avoid cupping to the abdomen and lower back)
